LOCATION:
Gloucester Park is situated to the North of Basildon Town Centre. The Western boundary of the park is formed by the A176, (Uppermayne), which runs between the A127 and the A13. The A1235, (Cranes Farm Road), runs Eastward from the A176 forming the Northern boundary. The A1321, (Broadmayne) also runs Eastwards from the A176, this time forming the Southern boundary. There are two main car parks. One at the North end of the park and one at the South.

CAR PARKS:
The Southern Car Park is to be found off the A1321, (Broadmayne), behind the Gloucester Park Swimming Pool. This is a pay and display Car Park. Parking tickets are needed between 7.30am and 8pm during the week and between 8am and 6pm on Saturdays. Tickets are not needed at all on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Anglers can obtain a complimentary day parking ticket from the park office next to the Bowls Green. It should be noted that this is a concession for anglers and these tickets are only available whilst there is somebody in the Park Office to issue them. If the Park Office is closed anglers must obtain a ticket from the pay and display machine.
The Northern Car Park is situated off of the A1235 (Cranes Farm Road). This large free Car Park is adjacent to the Gloucester Park Northern offices, all weather running track, pavilion, etc. There is a 6 foot 9 inch height barrier at this Car Park. Micks Landrover will go under it, but a high top transit wont.

GETTING THERE FROM THE M25:
From the M25 take the A127 towards Southend. After passing the now redundant Fortune roundabout, which is now virtually a chicane, take the next major slip road, the A176. The slip road curls to the left in a horseshoe, with a roundabout at the end of it. At the roundabout take the A176 left towards Basildon. You will go under the A127 and then meet another roundabout as you come out the other side. Go straight over (not literally!!) this roundabout. As you approach the next roundabout you will see a new office building and an ornamental lake on your right hand side. At this roundabout you have two options.
To get to the Northern Car Park turn left into Cranes Farm Road, (A1235). After a hundred yards or so you will go through a set of traffic lights, and shortly after you will see the Car Park on your right. As you are on a dual carriageway you have to go past and carry on to the next roundabout, before coming back on yourself and turning left into the Car Park.
To get to the Southern Car Park go straight across the roundabout on the junction of the A176 and A1235, and carry on towards Basildon. At the next roundabout turn left into Broadmayne, (A1321), and almost immediately left into the access road for Gloucester Park Swimming Pool and the Park. (From the road you may catch a glimpse of the Gloucester Park Boating Pool in front of the swimming pool). Drive past the swimming pool to the Car Park behind it. For complimentary parking tickets turn left behind the swimming pool. To find the Park Offices walk through the barrier gate, and the offices are to the right.
GETTING THERE FROM THE A13:
From the A13 take the A176 towards Basildon, (the Five Bells Public House is a noted landmark on the corner of the junction). Head towards Basildon going straight through the roundabout at Basildon Hospital. You will go under a railway bridge, and very soon after you will meet another roundabout. At this roundabout go straight ahead to the next roundabout which is only a hundred yards or so away. At this roundabout you have two options.
To get to the Southern entrance you need to be in the middle lane which actually bears right into Broadmayne, (A1321). You need to be on the left hand side as you turn into Broadmayne because the entrance to the Park and the Gloucester Park Swimming Pool is only a short distance down on your left.
To get to the Northern Car Park you need to take the first exit, which is marked on the road as left, but in real terms is actually at about 11oclock. Carry on to the next roundabout where you turn right into Cranes Farm Road, (A1235). After a hundred yards or so you will go through a set of traffic lights, and shortly after you will see the Car Park on your right. As you are on a dual carriageway you have to go past and carry on to the next roundabout, before coming back on yourself and turning left into the Car Park.
